Eastbridge? Westbridge?
awesome info. thx. now why does ryzen 7000 actually need a chipset?! it has all the necessary i/o already in the cpu!
btw: apparently zen4 supports the main PCIe 5.0 x16 to be bifurcated into x4x4x4x4 as well
It would be truly awesome if GPUs will also adopt the Chiplet Design that will emulate Dual-GPU Graphics Card from the likes of GeForce GTX 590, 690, TITAN Z, Radeon HD 5990, 6990, 7990, R9 295X2, R9 390X2 and Pro Duo with Load Balancing...
It doesn't look to me like the USB hubs are daisy chained, just the PCI controllers, which is fine for virtualization as long as PCI ACS is in use
AMD's presentation materials say B650 will support PCle 5.0 for "storage only" but I'm only seeing 4.0 on the block diagram.
Thank you for pointing out this oversight! We have updated the block diagram to reflect this. Thanks!
Thanks for the update, informative article. More discussion on hacker news: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31472716
